The Artist's Cabin is a 1-bedroom cottage that sits on the very edge of the bay and offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Fundy, Kilmarnock Head, and Ministers Island. Named for the artists who have come here to write, photograph, paint, and rejuvenate, the Artist’s Cabin is serene and incredibly romantic. Located an 8-10 minutes from St. Andrews, it is within easy reach of extraordinary restaurants, grocery stores, a lively arts scene, great cafes, a world-class golf course, and amazing outdoor adventure opportunities including kayaking, hiking, and whale watching.

The Artist’s Cabin is a 1-bedroom cottage with a queen-size bed (with soft sheets and cozy quilts and duvets) and has a large, queen-sized futon in the living room. The living room also offers a wood stove and a television. The bright bathroom has a combination bathtub and shower and comes fully stocked with towels, hand-towels, face cloths, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer. 

We hope that you will enjoy the cottage’s well stocked kitchen with all of the cooking essentials necessary to prepare your favourite meals in your home-away-from-home. There is also a BBQ and dinner table for 4 on the deck and 4 Adirondack chairs for those who love to relax and take in the view. 

The cottage sits on the very edge of the Bay of Fundy and is backed by our 60-acre farm that is home to horses, geese, ducks, swans, deer, foxes, and more and you are welcome to explore our 2-3 km of forest, meadow, and ocean-front trails. The Artist's Cabin is both very cosy and incredibly romantic and is the perfect location for anyone looking to spend a week or two at a slower pace. While the cottage is close to everything, we love that it feels a million miles from anywhere.

Serenity by the Sea Cottage is a 2-bedroom cottage with queen-sized beds, both with soft sheets and cozy quilts and duvets. The living room is outfitted with two very comfortable Sealy convertible sofa beds (extra pillows and linens are available upon request), and a TV (Roku TV with Netflix and Prime, etc). The bright bathroom has a combination bathtub and shower and a vanity and comes fully stocked with towels, hand-towels, face cloths, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer. The kitchen has full-size stainless steel appliances and all of the cooking essentials necessary to prepare your favourite meals in your home-away-from-home.

The cottage also has a BBQ, a verandah countertop dining area with stools (perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine), a paver patio outdoor dining area (tucked into the trees on the far side of the yard and decorated with solar lights), and a fire pit with 6 Adirondack chairs for those who love to relax by the fire at the end of the day. 

Serenity is only a 1-2 minute walk from a very quiet beach and is located a short 8-10 minute drive from Saint Andrews. The property neighbours our sixty-acre farm that is home to horses, geese, ducks, swans, deer, foxes (and more) and you are welcome to explore our 2-3 km of forest, meadow, and ocean-front trails.

Explore all day and tell stories by the fire at night. It’s a perfect getaway!

4. Scuba Diving

SurfnSCUBA offers scuba diving tours, gear rentals, and certification courses for the novice or experienced diver. Become certified, take an introductory lesson, or venture into the depths while in St. Andrews.

1. Hiking and Walking

There are a number of beautiful trails in and near Saint Andrews including Sam Orr’s Pond trail, Simpson Hill, Pagan Point and more. If you feel like venturing further afield, head to Saint Martins to explore the Fundy Footpath or to Fundy National Park and Alma, NB to explore the park's extensive trail systems. Let us know if you would like trail recommendations.

For those to prefer to walk or to explore closer to home, please wander the farm trails. The Artist's Cabin is located on a beautiful 60-acre farm and Serenity by the sea sits on a quiet neighbouring property. The farm is home to 2-3 km of forest, meadow, waterfront, and beach trails and has been known to prove very inspiring. We encourage to explore on foot or to bring your bicycle and cycle the property.

2. Sea Kayaking

Kayak the world’s highest tides and enjoy watching seals soak up the sun and porpoises play! You might even see a whale! Reach out to Seascape Kayak Tours or Eastern Outdoors to plan your perfect ½ day, full-day, or multi-day tour. Rentals are also available through Kayaks2Go and they deliver to your door!

3. Whale Watching

Saint Andrews boasts numerous whale watching companies and a diverse selection of tours. You can head out to sea on a gorgeous tall ship or via catamaran or Zodiac. Regardless of how you choose to travel, you will have the opportunity to see whales, seals, porpoises, eagles, osprey, and the dramatic east coast land and seascapes.

5. Bicycle Tours

Explore the area with Off Kilter Biking Tours! The owner, Kurt, offers mountain bike tours that are fun and unique in that cyclists wear custom made biking kilts. Tours range from easy and moderate to challenging full-day and multi-day tours. 2-hour mountain biking tours are ideal for beginners and include lots of sightseeing.

6. Minister’s Island Walks and Tours

Ministers Island is an enchanting place to experience. Lying just off the shore near St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada, this 500-acre island is only a part-time island. You reach it by driving over the seafloor approximately one kilometre (1/2 mile). Once there, you are immersed in an experience from the late 19th and early 20th century - the summer estate of Sir William Van Horne, the driving force behind the Canadian Pacific Railway.

For over a century, golfers have traveled to St. Andrews to test their skills on The Algonquin golf course and to take in the breathtaking views. The 7,000-yard, par 72 course was designed by renowned course architect Thomas McBroom and will delight and challenge golfers of every level. Enjoy the beautiful vistas and breathtaking scenery, while the unforgettable oceanfront sequence of holes on the back nine will challenge skilled golfers. 

Katy’s Cove is a natural wonder located in the heart of beautiful St Andrews by the Sea. Katy’s Cove has a warm, salt water public beach in an enclosed cove and provides a beautiful recreational experience with free admission for all to enjoy. The cove is surrounded on two sides by a paved active living trail making it easy to explore the natural beauty that Katy’s Cove has to offer.  

KŌV is a Nordic spa inspired experience located just minutes from the resort town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick. They offer three-hour sessions for groups between one and six people. During your session, you and your group will have exclusive access to their wood-fired cedar barrel sauna, wood-fired cedar hot tub, jetted whirlpool spa/hot tub, and their cold plunge tubs. The cold phase of the thermal cycle ritual can also be experienced in their cove, when the tides and weather permit. 


12. Picnic

Pack a picnic and head out to explore the farm. Find a perfect spot on one of the beaches or along one of the meadows and enjoy a decadent few hours or day with your favourite wine and packed lunch.

5. KIRA - Venue and Artist Residencies

KIRA is the Kingsbrae International Residence for the Arts & amphitheatre and it offers an elegant venue with themed gardens in old & new styles, plus sculptures, an art studio & dining.

Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre is “a non-profit cultural centre for the connections between art and nature.” They offer a wide variety of courses led by acclaimed instructors and their galleries regularly offer exhibitions of local, national, and international artists.

The Ross Memorial Museum is a personal decorative arts collection displayed in a fine early 19th-century house in the National Historic District of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada.

Touch and feel real live ocean creatures like sea stars, crabs, and sea urchins without heading under the sea. Committed to the advancement of the marine sciences and the delivery of superior educational experience, this aquarium brings the ocean floor to you with a range of interactive exhibits and activities for all ages.

4. Water Street Artisans

New Brunsweick is home to an incredbly diverse selection of artists and craftspeople, many of whom are represented in the galleries on Water Street in St. Andrews. Take a stroll through the galleries and shops to see handcrafted work by regional artists including jewellery, folk art, furniture, ceramics, pottery, stained glass, silk work, and paintings. 

Kingsbrae Garden is a multi-award winning 27-acre horticultural masterpiece located in beautiful St. Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick. Kingsbrae is also home to dozens of remarkable sculptures, a stunning art studio, and interactive classes. Trip Advisor ranks Kingsbrae Garden as the #1 Thing to Do while visiting the area.

7. The Saint Andrews Farmer’s Market

Come celebrate our 44-year-old market at the edge of the Bay of Fundy. The St. Andrews Farmers Market runs on Thursdays from May through September. The market is located downtown in Market Square, near the corner of King Street and Water Street. Stroll through this traditional down east farmers market beginning at 8:30 am until 1 pm! Discover local produce, ethnic foods, handcrafted products & so much more!

Paddlefest is a Music & Outdoor Recreation Festival in the small seaside community of St. Andrews, New Brunswick. The 4-day festival combines music, art, recreational and environmental activities such as kayaking, hiking, and beach clean-ups for a long weekend of fun for music lovers and adventure seekers alike!

The Indulge Food and Wine Festival in St. Andrews is a food and culture feast in southwestern New Brunswick. Enjoy the best food and entertainment New Brunswick has to offer in our  beautiful seaside town.

Check out the Red Herring Pub, the Kennedy Inn, the Dunn Theatre, the KIRA Amphitheatre, and the Minister’s Island Music Series for all live music events in the area.

Food and Drink

Savour in the Garden is Kingsbrae Garden’s multi award-winning fine-dining restaurant. With a limited number of seats, it offers a far more intimate culinary experience. Their menus are set tasting menus that change every week and focus on the very best New Brunswick has to offer, all the while keeping in mind their eco footprint and the sustainability of their products.

The restaurant at the Rossmount Inn has gained a wonderful reputation around town and throughout the Maritimes for its creative, market-fresh cuisine honouring local ingredients and the people who produce them. ​Dinners at the Inn are a constant new experience as their menu changes daily in order to feature the freshest ingredients land and sea has to offer. 

The Chandler Room comes very highly recommended and Lonely planet describes it as a “Polished yet comfortable tapas-style restaurant … Expect a carefully chosen wine and whiskey list and bespoke cocktails. Inside it's candlelit and intimate; outside the deck views are substantial.” 

A bright new space offering surf & turf in-restaurant and for take-out in an architecturally intriguing space. The newly opened restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Saint Andrews and is unusual in that the building has a translucent roof, open sides, and a massive sliding front gate. Char & Chowder is fast, friendly, and highly recommended. 

The gables is a family-friendly, casual, cosy & wood-clad outpost serving pub grub & sandwiches, plus patio seating with wonderful water views.

The Garden Café at Kingsbrae serves delicious, light, healthful fare throughout the day. The menu is bistro style with sandwiches, soups, chowders, pastas and a range of daily features. Their desserts are the best in the region, offering cheese cakes, tortes, Crème Brûlée and giant ice cream sandwiches, just to mention a few.

Centrally located in the main building of The Algonquin Resort, Braxton's is a place to gather, connect, and enjoy seasonal, fresh ingredients in an elegant, yet inviting setting for lunch, and dinner. Indulge in exceptional seafood, steaks, and a wide variety of cocktails and wines. They also serve a wonderful Sunday brunch!

McGuire Chocolate is “a bean to bar chocolate maker with a focus on preparing a simple and high quality product from the inside out. They have a café storefront on Water Street where they also make ice cream, bread, and baked goods using their bean to bar chocolate”. McGuire Chocolate is also known for their exceptional espresso. 

Honeybeans is a cozy cafe in St.Andrews. They serve hot and cold beverages of all kinds with fresh baked snacks too. We highly recommend their white mochas but they have a very wide selection of delicious options for coffee and tea lovers.

Our cottages are equipped with fully-stocked kitchens and outdoor BBQ’s. Pick up supplies and prepare your favorite meals at your home away from home!

2. Trails

The farm has 2-3 km of beautiful waterfront, forest, and farm trails. We encourage to explore on foot or to bring your bicycles and wander the trails by bike. 

1. Beaches

The farm where the Artist’s Cabin is located and that neighbours Serenity by the sea cottage has numerous beaches to explore, all of which offer gorgeous views. Beach-coming for sea glass and ceramics is a popular local pastime.

4. Farm animals and wildlife

The farm is home to horses, geese, swans, and sheep as well as numerous deer, foxes, and porcupines. If you’re lucky, you will also see eagles, ospreys, woodpeckers, sandpipers, and more.

5. Views

The views are extraordinary and will take your breath away! If you are exploring the beaches, you will note that Minister’s Island is directly across from the beach closest to Serenity and that it is also visible from the Artist’s Cabin. You will also note Kilmarnock Head, Hospital Island, and Hardwood Island, all of which are just off-shore.

6. Sit back and enjoy the deck

The cottages both have decks and Serenity has a paver patio with a dining area. Whether you are sipping your morning coffee or a glass of sauvignon blanc, this is the perfect place to unwind.

7. Firepits and bonfires

Please make use of the firepit at Serenity and the woodstove at the Artist’s Cabin. You are welcome to make beach bonfires as well. If you do so, please keep fires away from the Artist’s Cabin (10m or more) and always make certain to douse any flames at
 the end of the night. 

8. Relax

Everyone needs time-off to rest, relax, and rejuvenate so dig deep into vacation mode. Sleep in, take a walk, relax on the beach, watch a movie, or read a great book. This is cottage life at its best.

Our absolute favorite airbnb experience yet! We will be back next year!!! It stormed the whole time we were there and we still loved every minute, listening to the waves crash on the shore just a few feet from the windows, while snuggled up next to a fire.
